Where can I find a comparison of laptop manufacturers?

Question by Abecedarius: Where can I find a comparison of laptop manufacturers?
All the places I look seem to be about either laptop types (too broad) or specific laptop models (too specific). Where can I find a decent comparison between the actual manufacturers (Dell, Toshiba, Apple, Acer, etc.)?
Cost is only part of the question, I would also like to know which manufacturers in general will offer certain features.

Hi you will not as that gives the game away.
cost is the governing factor most of the time and keeping your eyes open and visiting store which sell such things.
it is an ever changing market and so no one knows from one week to the next which one is the best.

Supposedly the top rated brands overall right now are Apple, and Lenovo. I know HP got the worst for Customer Support, I don’t know where Toshiba ranked for anything.

I think I read that from PC Magazine but I can’t seem to remember for sure….
